Advice For a Frozen Evaporator Coil

A frozen freezer is a bad thing and can cause problems with your evaporator coils. One of the things that cause the evaporator coils to freeze is air. The air in the freezer is a thick substance and it traps the moisture in the air which is actually part of the evaporator coil, preventing it from working properly.

When you thaw out the ice you will need to periodically get rid of the ice and use ice cubes. It’s best to do this when it’s still dark so that it is dark and you don’t stand out in the cold. When you are going to put ice in the freezer, it is important to make sure the cooling element is turned off. You don’t want to damage the evaporator coil. If you do damage it then you have to make a whole new evaporator and the cost will be more expensive than just fixing the evaporator itself. The reason is because you would need to replace all the copper and there is only a small amount of copper inside.

When you are getting ready to place the ice in the freezer you should be very careful not to place the ice in the drier and if you do so it is a very bad idea. The drier has more moisture and the evaporator coils will get wet and will give the coil some rust. When you put ice in the freezer to be sure not to put it in the drier or else the liquid could get on the coils and ruin them.
