A compressor breaker is a system that keeps a machine from turning on in case of power failure. It is essentially a switch that opens when it senses an overload, which would result in a circuit breaker. It helps prevent the machine from blowing up when it does not have any electrical power available. So what makes a compressor breaker more important than a circuit breaker?
For starters, a breaker is an instantaneous device, while a breaker for a compressor is far slower and more long-lasting. This is because a compressor is designed to carry out heavy loads quickly and sustain them without any interruption of operations. Hence, if any part of the machine breaks down, its parts are pushed back. This is of course a very hazardous situation, and therefore a breaker for a compressor is always the first thing to be done. If one or two other machines fail, the breaker of the compressor will keep the machine running, while other machines would need to be restarted. But of course, it is not always possible to stop a machine and restart it when it blows up. For this reason, a breaker for a compressor is a must-have.

Circuit breakers are more expensive but their reliability and efficiency far outweigh the cost of a compressor breaker. However, keep in mind that a compressor breaker is only good in case of power failure. As such, its main duty is to keep the equipment going; thus, it would not have any bearing on the machines’ reliability.
